Cornerstone Montessori Summer Camp - Summer Fun 2009!

Come join the fun at Cornerstone Montessori School. Join our classroom teachers as they lead the children through a variety of subjects. Our camps are open to the public and are designed to meet the needs of every child preprimary through sixth grade. Our summer program is designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and imagination. These goals are met through special theme weeks, the classrooms, and the teachers.
Children are required to bring a packed lunch and water bottle labeled with their name each day. Snacks and water are provided.
The cost of the summer camp program is as follows:
- Summer Camp: $200 per week or $45/day (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - dropoff at 8:30 a.m.)
- Deposit: A $200 deposit is due with the application. If you are enrolling for more than one week, payments will be due the first day of camp each week. Your deposit will cover your last week of camp.
- Enrichment: $50 per week (4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Enrichment must be paid in advanced with Camp fee)
*There is a $25 per week discount for children signed up for 8 or more weeks.

June 1-5 |
Art, Art and More Art with Ms. Emily & Ms. Amy P. Children will use several different mediums to create unique artwork to cherish forever. Projects will include a mosaic, tie-dying, acrylic painting, and many more. Each artist will have the opportunity to create with their imagination. Please bring a white t-shirt that can be tie-dyed. Material fee: $15 |

June 8-12 |
Theater Camp with Ms. Amy P. & Ms. LeAnne Drama kings and queens alike will join together to revisit the fundamentals of the theater while preparing for their own theatrical production. Your child will participate in try-outs and have daily practice for the end of the week production. There will be visits from other theater professionals who will add their own flavor to the drama mix. Exploring improve, skits, dance and puppets. Please save Friday afternoon to watch the performance. Guest speaker fees: $15 |

June 15-19 |
Sports of all Sorts with Ms. Becky, Ms. Mary & Ms. Angie Join us for a week of good old fashioned fun as we learn all of those fun games popular when your parents were children! We will play Ghost in the Graveyard, Capture the Flag, Spud, Croquet, etc. We will also learn how to play volleyball, soccer, basketball (around the world and pig), badminton, and many types of water games. Ms. Angie will be teaching cheerleading during this camp, learn the basic motions and techniques of cheering. Each child will need to bring a bathing suit, towel, sun screen and goggles if they plan to take a refreshing dip in the pool. This camp will take place at the Schadler's residence.* Add cheerleading

June 22-26 |
Creeking, Hiking and Swimming with Ms. Jill & Ms. Amy P. Join us at the Schadler’s country estate where we will explore the creek for animals and fossils. Take hikes in the woods and explore nature. We will play lots of water games in the pool such as marco polo, sharks and minnows, water polo, category, ball tag and water volleyball. Each child will need to bring a pair of shoes that are comfortable for hiking and walking in the creek, bathing suit, towel, sun screen and goggles.* |

July 6-10 |
Water Fun 1 with Ms. Mary & Ms. Angie Join us at the Schadler’s country estate for lots of water games in and out of the pool*. We will play marco polo, sharks and minnows, water polo, category, ball tag, water volleyball, and even learn some water aerobics. Outside the pool we will have water balloon games poolside, and Mexican train dominoes. In between water games, we will play some field games such as different types of relay races. Each child will need to bring a bathing suit, towel, sun screen and goggles (if needed).* |

July 13-17 |

Kids in the Kitchen with Ms. Mary & Ms. Becky Join us at the Schadler’s country estate for a week of learning cooking basics. The children will be learning how to follow a recipe, measure ingredients, mixing, baking and creating foods without cooking. We will be using different recipes to make homemade bread, smoothies, pretend soup, shakes, ice cream and other treats. Each child will be able to experience cooking firsthand and then the fun of enjoying the treats they just made! Each child will need to bring a bathing suit, towel, sun screen and goggles (if needed).* Material fee: $10 |

July 27-31 |
Science & Nature with Ms. Angie & Ms. Amy P. Come spend the week at the school doing many different scientific experiments and explore the many different treasures of nature. We will be doing gardening basics and exploring your child’s favorite area of science. Material fee: $10 |

August 3-7 |
Crafts & Hobbies with Ms. Amy P & Ms. Angie A fun filled week at the school of crafts and personal hobbies. We would like to know your child's favorite hobby (knitting, stamp collecting, photography) so we can allow them to share and teach all our campers. Camp fee: $15 |
August 10-14 |
Music Camp with Ms. Amy Come to Cornerstone for a week of musical memories. We will try out a variety of instruments such as guitar, keyboard, ukulele, drums, voice, etc. We will overview basic music theory, includes rhythm. On Friday, please come for to hear a song played by us as well as an outside musician performance. Camp fee: $15 |
*All camps with pool activities are supervised by a YMCA certified lifeguard.
*If the camp is held at Mary Schadler’s estate (the directress’s house in Walton, KY), children can either be dropped off at school and transported by van or dropped off at Ms. Mary’s house.
